Letting Meta Go

This Monday was almost regular Monday, apart from the one decision I have made. After spending a 1.5 decade in a very intense relationship, I have decided to take a break from Facebook and Instagram.

Was it spur of a moment? Do I propagande forsaking social media? Answer is no. Social media gives us opportunity to stay connected to people, become digital marketers, micro and macro influencer. In return we need to pay with our time and emotions.

One thing I would like to stress on is that Social Media is not a real life: everything we see is made up… all those beautiful faces, nice smiles, happy families and successful self-made entrepreneurs. What does their real life look like ? I couldn’t care less. But I find it tricky,as some people get inspired by all that and try to copy other persons success path, lifestyle. This is somewhat good, as no matter what is the final outcome, you will gain some experience, enjoyable moments and maybe really good habits. Yes, it is true: each success story has its own script and you see only the end result and the cover page.

Other will get depressed by comparing themselves to those in the spotlight and feel like losers. This can lead to a very difficult illness which will require years to recover.

Facebook and IG have become more useless than useful to me. Instead of being inspired, I get depressed. All those people that hate each other, all those political debates, insults — these are fueled by Meta. Their community standards apply only where Meta feels like that. This can not be the place to be where there is no truth and no honor. Their greed of making money has overgrown the good they tried to bring into our lives.

So what’s my point? I believe that each of us is born to be happy and successful and beautiful. And only we are the ones to set the meaning of those words for us. I am the ruler in my world, I define success, I define my own happiness and my own beauty standards. And in the world of my rules, I am the judge and appraisal to myself. So do You.

Let’s build new life around us, by setting our standards to what we need in this life. May every moment of our life be filled with joy and fulfilment.

Have an inspired day and enjoy every moment of your life.

Sincerely,

Ani Sheen
